For Sparkassen clients

Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions.

What does the termination letter from Sparkasse mean for me as a Bluecode user?

Your Sparkasse has previously offered you Bluecode via a so-called direct integration. This means that payments you made via Bluecode and its partner apps were debited directly from your bank account.

This technical connection is no longer supported by your savings bank.

However, this does not mean that you can no longer use Bluecode. Bluecode offers you the alternative option of collecting payments from your account via direct debit.

If, on the other hand, you would prefer to set aside a fixed budget for your Bluecode payments, our credit solution is also available to you in the Bluecode app.

Am I also affected as a user of Kaufland Pay, Müller Pay or Adler Pay?

Yes, Bluecode is a payment instrument that is used in a wide range of different apps.

Here are a few examples of our partner apps:

  • Kaufland
  • Müller
  • Adler Mannheim
  • FC Augsburg
  • TSG Hoffenheim
  • Karlsruher SC
  • Mobile Pocket
  • Huawei Pay
  • Vero Pay
  • Jö Bonus Club
  • GEM2GO
What do I need to do to continue using Bluecode?

Conveniently connect Bluecode to your Sparkasse account via direct debit.

Open your Bluecode app or one of the respective partner apps and select the menu item “Connect another bank account” in the settings. The app will then guide you through the registration process in just a few steps. Once this is done, you can also remove the old account link in the settings.

If the option to add another bank account does not appear, please go to the tap “Bank accounts” and first select “Remove” and then “Start setup.”

How does the Bluecode direct debit system work?

With the Bluecode direct debit procedure, you issue a direct debit mandate to a licensed billing partner, who then processes your Bluecode (direct debit) payments on behalf of the merchant's payment service provider. We also refer to this billing partner as a direct debit processor. This is Payone GmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main, a payment service provider supervised by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

You can find detailed information here.

What changes when the payment amounts are debited?

Basically, not much changes. Until now, you could see the debits on your Sparkasse account just a few seconds after your Bluecode transaction. With direct debit, this only happens 1-2 business days later. Please make sure that your account has sufficient funds at this time.

Will Bluecode become a paid service?

No, for you Bluecode is and will remain free of charge.

My application for the Bluecode direct debit method has been rejected. What can I do?

In this case, please contact our support team by email. We will need two pieces of information from you.

  • Please send us the 6-digit Bluecode ID for your Sparkasse bank account. You can find this in your Sparkasse online banking system in the reference field for your most recent Bluecode payments.
  • We also need the 8-digit Bluecode ID from your current app. You can find this in the settings of your Bluecode or partner app.
  • Both codes consist of capital letters and numbers.
